Description
The Aircraft Engineer 2 troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft including engines, engine systems, and airframe components to ensure aircraft remains in safe operating condition. The Aircraft Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities
The Aircraft Engineer 2 tests, adjusts, and replaces parts such as tires, wiring, and instruments using various test equipment, technical diagrams, maintenance manuals, and mechanics' tools, and will maintain each of the corporate aircraft to the highest standards of safety, security and readiness.
Maintain company aircraft including assigning and assisting maintenance personnel during inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and cleaning of aircraft with overall responsibility for airworthiness
Monitor flight schedule and coordinate aircraft/hangar movements and personnel requirements to support flight schedule
Responsible for maintenance projections and budgeting information on assigned aircraft, duties, or projects
Assist with cleaning of aircraft, hangar, and shop areas
Must be able to operate CD ROM and internet based maintenance manuals and publications
Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is require, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting materials or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward
Must be willing to work a rotating shift and or flexible hours including some weekends and holidays to support aircraft flight schedule
Work is usually performed in a comfortable atmosphere but with regular exposure to temperature extremes, loud noises, fumes and moving machinery
Tow aircraft in the hangar and ramp area as required
Must be able to work individually and as a team member
Perform departure and arrival duties, assist passengers with their travel needs
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the aircraft paying close attention to detail and sign off all work in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations
Order and maintain parts/spares inventory
Technician must be willing to travel with aircraft to oversee maintenance performed at MRO and also travel for training purposes
Maintain aircraft log books and manage aircraft maintenance tracking system
Perform fueling and defueling of aircraft and line service responsibilities to include aircraft lavatory servicing
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree or applicable, equivalent experience
Airframe & Power Plant Certificate required with no violations in past five years
Current and valid Driver's License and US Passport or ability to obtain US Passport upon hire
In depth knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and current technology of avionics/electrical systems for corporate aircraft
Must have own hand tools required to perform routine maintenance on corporate type aircraft
Excellent troubleshooting skills including knowledge and capabilities of using required tools and test equipment
Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity, and fulfillment of commitments
Must have good communication skills, written and oral
Must have good basic computer skills including but not limited to the use of Word and Excel
Must present neat and groomed appearance
Maintains good housekeeping practices

Additional Information
This position is located in Humana's Aviation Center in Louisville, KY
Associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work. The weekly testing will need to be done through an approved Humana vendor, and unvaccinated associates should follow all social distancing and masking protocols if they are required to come into a Humana facility or work outside of their home.
