The successful candidate will possess knowledge of and experience with machining capabilities, metal fabrication, and assembly design. The Engineering Technician 3 will interface with numerous departments and will directly support cross-campus collaboration. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. u003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003cbu003eRoles and Responsibilities:u003c/bu003eu003culu003enu003cliu003eProvides technical support to the factory floor as well as engineering teams. u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eCollaborates on manufacturability, providing feedback on capabilities and processes.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eInterfaces with cross-campus teams in a professional manner u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eDevelops estimates and proposals for sub and final assemblies.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eChampions first-time-builds within manufacturing.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eProvides tactile build support; operates machining and assembly equipment.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eEstablishes manufacturing methods through process and documentation development.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eConducts experimental projects driving innovation and technological advancement.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eInspects parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, micrometers, and comparators.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eRoutinely maintains equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability specific to division requirements.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAccurately and regularly performs statistical process control (SPC) specific to division requirements.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eActively implements lean initiatives by identifying and providing recommendations on areas for improvement, effectively applying lean concepts and tools in work area.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eObserves all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintains a clean and orderly work area.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePerforms other related responsibilities as requested.u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003eu003cbu003eBasic Qualifications:u003c/bu003eu003culu003enu003cliu003eHigh School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years additional education and/or related experience.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eReads and follows blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eHas working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAble to make advanced machine setups and understands machining capabilities.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eFamiliar with sub and final assembly build structure.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eKnowledge of lean initiativesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eDemonstrates effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003eu003cbu003ePreferred Qualifications:u003c/bu003eu003culu003enu003cliu003eCMM experienceu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eExperience with Model Based Engineeringu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eDemonstrated proficiency using Master Camu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eProgram fixturing using conversational controller.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eKnowledge of GDu0026amp;T standardsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eEstimating experienceu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eProficient at sheet metal worku003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003e u003cstrongu003eSalary Range: u003c/strongu003e $53,300 USD - $88,800 USDu003cbru003e u003cbru003e Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
