The Weight Improvement and Methods Development Staff Engineer is responsible for leading the efforts to minimize weight and maximize efficiency through the analytical process across all air vehicle systems of the 360 Invictus program with Structures as the priority. Position Responsibilities Oversees all weight or methodology improvement ideation, prioritization, and execution with an emphasis on the most significant contributor to empty weight fraction and program schedule – Structures.Advance the state-of-the-art design and analysis process through creative thought, personal and team research, technical compliance, and strong analysis skills.Ensure compliance with all best practices, customer and industry specifications.Support manufacturing and testing of system components and sub-systems, interpreting technical data, and assisting in product or process improvements.Participate in a cross functional team environment completing a variety of objectives depending on the program lifecycle assigned.','!*!

Education Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or equivalent, from an accredited college or university.• Master’s degree or PhD in an engineering discipline listed above or equivalent is preferred. Position Requirements • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the aerospace industry in aircraft structural design, analysis, certification/qualification is required.• Must have experience through multiple air vehicle programs, successfully bringing new designs through all phases of development and final certification/qualification.• Previous experience utilizing various computational tools such as CATIA, MATLAB, FEM software (PATRAN/NASTRAN, ANSYS Mechanical or MAPDL, Abaqus/CAE, or equivalent) is required. Experience in customization and scripting macros is preferred.• Previous experience working on cross functional engineering programs where importance is placed on sound engineering judgment coupled with meeting schedule and cost requirements to achieve exceptional results is required.• Proficiency with basic office computer software is required, specifically the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.).• Must have demonstrated ability to work in a team environment being able to articulate technical data and concepts to a wide audience of individuals of different technical backgrounds.• Must have demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a variety of activities and tasks while dealing with change.• Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with excellent foresight and problem-solving skills.• Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams to complete design, analysis, and program tasks.
