YOUR NEW COMPANY
My client is a world leading maintenance, repair & ops service provider for the civil aviation sector who offer clients comprehensive and fully customized solutions for the technical support and management of their aircraft fleets, engines and components.
Globally the company supports over 500 civil aviation customers and the Cork site employs over 200 staff and has typically enjoyed 5 to 10% year on year growth over the past 10-15 years.
YOUR NEW JOB
You will be joining a closely knit team that includes three CAD Techs & four Development Engineers and you will report into the Lead Repair Development Engineer.
The CAD Design position is suited to a Hybrid model (60% Office-40% Home) once an appropriate level of competency has been demonstrated in advance, and you will have a busy and varied remit that includes:
* Jig/Fixture design to support on-going Production requirements as well as New Product/Repair Introduction activities.
* Decision making on internal / external manufacture.
* Execution of the RFQ process for external manufacture and selection of the preferred supplier.
* Conduct FMEAs on new designs.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement projects as required.
* Support and assist in the Calibration process of the newly manufactured tools.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Ideally you will hold a relevant Level 8 degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Biomedical or Mechatronics Engineering although qualified applicants with relevant Level 7 degrees and a relevant internship/post grad experience will also be considered.
Familiarity in SolidWorks, or similar 3D solid modelling software package from your studies and experience to date will be highly advantageous as would any prior experience of working in highly regulated sectors (aerospace, medical device, automotive, etc.)
WHATS IN IT FOR YOU
There is a competitive graduate salary plus pension, healthcare, bonus, life assurance, 26 days holidays and the opportunity to really kickstart your design career with a top multi-national in Cork.
You'll have ample opportunity to progress your career with the option to move into different areas of the business (e.g. calibration, CMM Programming, 3D Printing/Prototyping, Product/Process Engineering, etc.) depending on what you are interested in pursuing.
The company will support candidates who want to complete their Level 8 Engineering degree if needs be and you'll be working in a very collaborative open environment that is definitely target driven but not as highly intensive/pressurised as some other organisations that also operate in highly regulated sectors.

What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
