Youll be part of a challenging and fast paced group that is responsible for the structural analyses of components, subsystems, and entire spacecraft operating in earth orbits and interplanetary missions. You will lead small teams, be responsible for applied research and provide technical consultation to senior and program management. Youll have the opportunity to analyze, test, and correlate small and large scale models, teach junior analysts, and help the team determine new requirements for development projects. Youre an excellent communicator, enjoy working independently and on technical teams and are very proficient with finite element analysis software. Direct experience with aerospace, particularly satellite structures, is a plus. Requirements B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering. MS. degree preferred. Minimum of ten years related working experience required with BS. With M.S. or Ph.D. degree, minimum of eight or six years related working experience required, respectively. Extensive knowledge in structural analysis, dynamics, and test. Demonstrated ability to lead a team in performing static and dynamic analyses and use those results to make critical decisions on structural designs. Be able to work in a fast paced, dynamic technical environment. Be able to consolidate analyses into technical documentation using MS Office suite. Be able to communicate precisely and effectively. High proficiency with PATRAN and/or FEMAP and NASTRAN. Thorough knowledge in structural analysis required, experience with aerospace (satellite) environments and governmental agencies preferred.
