Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking an Staff Electro-Mechanical Engineer with expertise in electronics packaging. Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Chelmsford designs and manufactures RF and microwave components and systems for use in missile applications and other harsh military environments. We incorporate the use of modern design tools in the relevant design disciplines of RF/microwave, analog/digital, and mechanical/thermal engineering. Also, on premises are state-of-the-art electronics manufacturing facilities, and ESS test capabilities. Candidate shall have experience with design and manufacture of microwave and millimeter wave electronics components and systems for severe environment. Familiarity with state of the art electronics packaging techniques including hybrid and circuit card assemblies.
The effort involves complex technical problems that require solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. The assignment includes the design, analysis, research, development, and testing encompassing multiple engineering disciplines; as well as including the planning and advancement of new aerospace products and technologies.
Tasks include performing preliminary and detailed design and analysis of assemblies, systems, subsystems, and components. Tasks may also include providing support for testing of systems, subsystems, and components. In addition, the candidate will provide technical documentation and input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present concepts, design and data to program and customer
Day to day activities will also include but will not be limited to creating designs, design documentation and performing verification testing using current electronics packaging concepts. Preparing detailed test plans, scheduling, and performing mechanical design verification and qualification testing as well as preparing and submitting formal reports and recommendations.

The Locale: Chelmsford is a charming suburb of Boston located about 25 miles northwest of that city. Chelmsford is very close to historic Lowell Massachusetts and to Nashua, New Hampshire. Chelmsford is within reach of New Hampshires White Mountains and awesome ski areas to the north, and the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH are about an hour east. This scenic colonial region offers lots of New England charm, great schools, shopping, and restaurants. Chelmsford and the region share an impressive past from the early days after the pilgrims arrived in Plymouth to the revolutionary war. Where can you get to from Chelmsford? Chelmsford is about 90 minutes from Cape Cod. Boston is about 30 minutes to the east without traffic. New York City is about 4.5 hours away from Chelmsford. Waterville Valley and other major ski resorts of New Hampshire and Vermont are about 2 to 3 hours to the north.
It should be noted that Chelmsford, Massachusetts is approximately 35 miles northwest of the Boston metropolitan area and offers better access to a wide range of substantially more affordable regions in the area to live. Those regions include Northeastern and North Central Massachusetts, and Southern, New Hampshire.
BS or MS degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
Proficiency with 3D CAD software including PTC CREO and AutoCAD.
Experience with all aspects of electro-mechanical design, including layout and design documentation.
Experience with design and manufacture or microwave electronics for severe environments.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for generating analysis plans and reports, documentation and proposals are necessary.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance and must have at least an Interim Secret clearance prior to start.
Experience with thermal and structural Finite Element Analysis using Ansys, Seimens NX and NX Nastran.
Hands on experience with environmental testing including thermal, shock and vibration testing.
Experience writing component specifications, and system/subsystem/component test plans.
Design of shock and vibration isolation system design.
Knowledge of GD&T is preferred.
