BAE Systems is looking for a System Security Engineering Project Manager to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting sustainment efforts for the Minuteman III (MM III) Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system. The Minuteman III is a 1970s-era weapon system and is scheduled to be retained as the United States militarys prompt, global strike deterrent system until at least 2030. The System Security Engineering Project Manager will provide subject matter expertise support to the government customer to facilitate the integration of system security engineering disciplines such as anti-tamper, cybersecurity, hardware assurance, software assurance, and supply chain risk management; and security specialties such as personnel security, industrial security, physical security, information security, and operations security.
The System Security Engineering Project Manager is accountable to the Program Manager for tasks and shall serve as a focal point for assigned projects to ensure comprehensive system protection within the constraints of cost, schedule, and performance while maintaining an acceptable level of risk. He or she will lead the System Security Team and be part of an integrated product team supporting the sustainment of ICBM-unique hardware and software for the MM III system, providing support in the form of data delivered for the MM III sustainment or acquisition activities. The specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Conducting or reviewing program protection analyses for critical program information (CPI), trusted systems and networks (TSN), and program information
Collaborating with system security engineering specialists, security specialists, program managers, and program engineers to assess vulnerabilities and identify protection measures
Conducting or reviewing trade-off analyses to integrate protection measures from across security engineering specialties and security specialties with a goal of achieving a comprehensive system security approach, which reduces security risks to acceptable levels
Collaborating with a program team to develop a Program Protection Plan (PPP) for their program and instructing those teams in the philosophy, techniques, and maintenance of their PPP
Translating protection measures into system security requirements, and adjusting them based upon constraints and decisions relayed from the systems engineer
Integrating the system security requirements into appropriate systems engineering artifacts
Conducting security risk management activities, producing related security risk management information, and advising the engineering team and key stakeholders on the security-relevant impact of threats and vulnerabilities to the mission supported by the system
This position is located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.Typical Education & Experience Typically a Bachelors Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experienceRequired Skills and Education
Required Education: High School/GED with 12 years of experience; Associates Degree with 10 years of experience; Bachelor of Science Degree with 8 years of experience; Master of Science Degree with 6 years of experience; PhD with 4 years of experience.

- Able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
- Able to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and organize daily tasks for a small team of five people with minimal or no supervision
Possess strong communication skills (oral and written) commensurate with expected mid- to senior-level civilian and military participants from various US Government agencies
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Point, and Outlook
At least 8 years of experience in identifying security vulnerabilities and minimizing or containing risks associated with these vulnerabilities.
Preferred Skills and Education
Bachelors or Masters degree in Security, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technologies highly desired; Current U.S. Government security clearance desired (but not required); Familiarity with protecting U.S. military technology and technical data, especially the ICBM weapon system, highly desired; Experience with Department of Defense and U.S. Air Force publications, including DoDI 5200.44, Protection of Mission Critical Functions to Achieve Trusted Systems and Networks (TSN), DoDI 5000.02, Operation of the Defense Acquisition System, DoDI 8500.01, Cybersecurity, AFI 16-1404, Air Force Information Security Program, and AFI 33-200, Air Force Cybersecurity Program Management, is highly desired.About BAE Systems Intelligence & Security BAE Systems Intelligence & Security, based in McLean, Virginia, designs and delivers advanced defense, intelligence, and security solutions that support the important missions of our customers.
