Raytheon Pasadena is looking for a Mission Operations Training Specialist with an active U.S. Government Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) accesses. Successful candidate will have the opportunity to support exciting projects with NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). The successful candidate will have overarching responsibility for execution of mission operations training and readiness activities. Will be the primary training interface to customer. This is a position for an energetic and multi-disciplined lead engineer who is customer-focused, articulate, reacts well to changes, can multi-task, and work well independently and within an integrated team environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing leadership for detailed system level operations training and execution Developing and documenting training plans, flight school curriculum and certification records Designing operations simulations and training scenarios Assessing and ensuring readiness of operations support personnel Contributing and participating in mission operations system validation Participating in the design and execution of the Integrated Ground V&V campaign Supporting program milestones
Qualified applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret (TS) clearance based upon Single Scope Background investigation (SBBI) within a 5-year scope and must be approved for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) accesses.
Education / Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, EE, CS, or related technical discipline with a minimum of 9 years of related experience; Master's degree in similar disciplines with a minimum of 7 years of related experience; or PhD in similar disciplines with a minimum of 5 years related experience.
Systems Engineering knowledge and lifecycle experience in one or more of the following areas: mission operations systems (MOS), ground data systems (GDS), and system verification and validation (V&V). Demonstrated life cycle experience in the development and transition of mission operations. Direct experience in developing operations support elements. Direct experience in designing operations simulations and flight school curriculum. Direct experience in working effectively across multiple organizations. Experience using requirements management systems such as DOORs. Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and incorporate innovations. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills required for customer interface
Knowledge and experience in applicable DoD policies and procedures pertaining to Ground Systems and Mission Operations Strong Information Technology skills and proficiency in: database applications such as FileMaker Pro and MySQL; scripting languages such as Python and STOL; Linux operating systems; and cloud computing services Experience in ground operations modeling and simulation Demonstrated understanding in ground software systems engineering Prior experience working in a 24x7, high-availability, operations engineering environment Understanding of JPL Flight Project Practices and Design Principles
The successful candidate will be required to work in Pasadena CA, there may be limited travel required for this position.
This position requires either a U.S. Citizen who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and Clearances.
