This position develops and maintains engineering by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepancies to satisfy customer and production requirements. Verifies accuracy of design layouts produced by others. Coordinates engineering product definition with internal/external stakeholders. Investigates and coordinates with manufacturing/production personnel. Other levels will oversee the preparation of design layouts and existing design modifications. You will lead the effort in resolving design discrepancies or manufacturing issues to satisfy customer and production requirements. Interfaces with other members of project engineering, program/product teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions. Position is located in San Diego, CA. *No Relocation Reimbursement will be provided. REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: AA degree in related discipline and typically 2 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in an engineering environment.EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 - 10 years of experience in technical design with engineering design tools (CATIA, UG-NX, Creo, SolidWorks). Experience within **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Commercial or Defense Aircraft Group a plus.SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: &bull General understanding and familiarization of engineering practices and related technical publications&bull Strong PC skills with high proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office products functionality&bull Moderate understanding to Proficiency in 3D modeling skills and using engineering design tools&bull Ability to learn new applications quickly.&bull Ability to prioritize for maximum productivity for multiple projects&bull Ability to define and document processes as required&bull Ability to identify potential issues, analyze and recommend improvements and alternate solutions. &bull Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.&bull Good verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational skills.&bull Proven reasoning, analytical abilities and mechanical aptitude.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:&bull Possess an understanding of engineering job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories and concepts. &bull Provide technical solutions for a wide range of tasks. Work independently to analyze, interpret, and translate source data into the product.&bull Develop solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.&bull Locate source data from the applicable files and systems.&bull Develops and maintains engineering product definition. &bull Prepares design layouts and modifies existing designs. &bull Develops engineering product definition&bull Develops statements of work, including design requirements, cost and schedule estimates.&bull Contributes and/or oversees to the integration of product definition across internal and external business partners to provide a functional end-product.&bull Review incoming source data to identify the affect and impact on the product.&bull Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions and be technically responsible and accountable for assigned work.&bull Knowledge of aircraft structure, materials, strengths and properties, design criteria, loading conditions and processes (e.g. non-destructive testing, corrosion prevention, fatigue)&bull Perform production and QA roles as assigned&bull Perform detailed analysis and interpretation of source data and make corrections as appropriate.&bull Meet assigned schedules and deadlines.&bull Ability to travel for training or assignments as required.&bull Other duties as assigned.CDG, is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
