Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented individual to perform on a team of cross-discipline specialist engineers located in Redondo Beach, CA with responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following:
Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems M.E. & T (Mechanical Engineering and Tooling Team) is seeking a team manager for composite tooling metrology department, reporting to the tooling fabrication manager. The Level 1 manager will lead a group of 10 to 15 hourly non-exempt employees. Responsibilities include staffing, training, management of indirect budget and capital asset requirements. Also to ensure tooling support of build/maintenance for production transition and sustained efforts, including measurement support of validation/verification of product. In addition, establishes, maintains and improves processes to support ESMC programs efforts. This position is also responsible to support the maintenance of other company programs tooling needs with direct support to ACC (Advance Composite Center).
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO:
Provide leadership and direction to section team members, ensuring members have sufficient statement of work,
Manage employee performance (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers),
Coordinate with programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed.
Ensure that employees are familiar with and use required tooling processes and procedures,
Estimate cost, schedule, and technical performance for a specific unit or large contract work packages while keeping in step with program performance schedules.
Act with speed and urgency to implement area process enhancements to improve affordability, quality and schedule.
Monitor the performance of exempt and/or non-exempt employees on a daily basis and actively assist and/or provide direction to subordinates as required.

Basic Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have a Associates Degree and 5 years of tooling or management experience or the
equivalence of 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
A strong background in assembly tooling, machine shop operations, welding, periodic tooling inspections and
verifications and reworks.
Experienced with managing tooling schedules & work plans to meet manufacturing commitments.
Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Aerospace manufacturing experience is a preferred.
Ability to work within an aerospace production environment with an emphasis on tooling operations and production
interface is preferred.
A working knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes and procedures is a plus.
Experience in creating & developing company policies and procedures and provide training within the core skill areas to
manufacturing teams and peers.
Metrology experience is preferred.
Experienced with CATIA V5 is preferred
Experienced with MES & TSW
Current DOD Clearance is preferred
