Description: The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) division is seeking a high-performing*Platform Systems Integration Electrical Engineering Wiring Installation Manager*(Level K) within the Vertical Lift Rotorcraft division of BDS, which is a multi-rotorcraft program organization with a mission statement to develop engineers to order Platform Systems design integration solutions via a highly skilled flexible workforce and cutting edge technologies for the advancement of the Boeing Rotorcraft division. This role includes managing to a performance management baseline in the areas of*Electrical Wire Installation**design*& will be located in*Ridley Park, PA*.
The Platform Systems Design Team provides engineering in support of enterprise wide rotorcraft projects / programs and is a flexible team that strategically adapts to emerging opportunities. The successful candidate will have the responsibility of managing various program projects across the BDS Vertical Lift enterprise. They will lead a team with a principal goal of executing flawlessly, increasing Boeing’s multi program design portfolio, driving improved productivity, developing innovative solutions, lowering costs, increasing quality, growing a knowledge based product development system and developing our employees.

This position requires extensive cross capability air vehicle engineering interaction with leadership and programs. The candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction to a large team of non-management employees.
The manager will also be responsible for reviewing team developed statements of work, estimates, to ensure they meet requirement specifications and 3D & 2D Engineering drawings; participating in 3D virtual design reviews; conducting employee development and employee reviews; as well as cost account management of team budgets and schedule developments and executing to plan. This also includes the development of Manufacturing Engineering Planning sequenced work instructions and graphics, including defining tooling definition and requirements development in support of all commodity engineering production and kit deployment.
The preferred candidate for this position will have knowledge of Boeing design practices and tools, preferably those associated with Wire Installation design such as IPDM & CATIA V5, MES. The position requires strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface with other business and engineering organizations. Candidates must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities. Additionally, they must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and suppliers while discussing technical information.
As the manager, you will ensure successful completion of your assigned project phases or work packages within budgeted time and cost and schedule constraints while ensuring first time quality. You will be responsible for managing, meeting, and negotiating contract requirements. As you are responsible for the successful integration of all design elements of your products into the project as a whole, it is expected that you will recommend alternative approaches to minimize cost and schedule and work with senior management and their team on process improvements.
Duties as a first-line leader will include (but are not limited to):
* Managing a team with responsibilities ranging from statements of work, requirements specifications, designs and / or drawings
* Wiring integration, hardware, participating in design reviews
* Conducting employee development and employee reviews
* Cost account management of team budgets and schedules
* Management of resources and priorities across multiple software development and Independent Research & Development (IR&D) projects
* Lead a team with a low level of supervision and intervention
* Ensure successful completion of your assigned project phases or work packages within budgeted time and cost constraints
* Communicate effectively and professionally with customers and suppliers while discussing technical information
This position will be based at the Boeing Plant in Ridley Park, PA, which is home to the H-47 Chinook Helicopter and the V-22 Osprey Tiltrotor. These aircraft are designed, tested, and manufactured at the site. In addition, the Ridley Park site hosts an Enterprise Support group – the Philadelphia Design Center – which provides design and analysis of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems for Boeing Commercial Aircraft and Military Derivatives. Boeing employs approximately 5,000 people at the site. The plant is situated along the Delaware River approximately 10 miles southwest of Philadelphia, and 2 miles from the international airport.
* Earned Value Management (EVM) experience
* 5 years’ experience working as a mechanical or electrical engineer
* 3 years’ experience in a leadership role (team lead, project, manager)
* Experience with CATIA v5
* Experience using Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
* Experience with IPDM (Integrated Product Data Management)
*This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship*.
