Northrop Grumman is searching for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 to support a multiple program production environment.
The successful candidate will be the Manufacturing Engineering Manager responsible for managing the day to day operations Manufacturing Engineering Organization. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Test Engineers that are responsible for the following:
Design and definition of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies and equipment used within the operation
Design and definition of the flow of materials within the facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout and process
Development of detailed work instructions for manufactured assemblies,subassemblies, and packaging
Development of detailed AcceptanceTest and Configuration procedures
Develop the Manufacturing Bill of Materials within our MRP system (SAP) to include structuring for manufacturability to meet the most efficient material and process workflow for the integration operations.
Execution of Change Masters relative to changes to the Manufacturing Bill of Materials and production activities including effectivity date and the most appropriate time for change cut in
Cycle Time, Time Phasing, and Processing Time development to convert to SAP routings within the Manufacturing Bill of Materials
Develops and initiates statistical process controls to refine and control techniques in all aspects of the production environment.
Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and optimize manufacturing processes and cost effective production.
Manage and maintain cost accountability for the Manufacturing Engineeringdepartment
Development of manufacturing processes and procedures
Production layout andprocess workflows for assemblies and new product lines
This position will report to the Manufacturing Manager and requires direct interface with the Engineering and Manufacturing and Manufacturing Support teams including Production, Production Control, and Quality.
Bachelor of Science in Technology Management, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or relevant BS degree.
At least 8 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience (3 years experience with Master's Degree)
Manufacturing experience in a DoD related manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience managing 6 or more direct report personnel, including performance appraisals and related activities.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts.
Demonstrated experience managing departmental budgets
Record of process improvement success from prototype through full rate production phases
Fluent with MS Office products Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word Preferred Qualifications:
Profit and Loss experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in the following manufacturing functional areas MRP, Procurement, Operations
