Job Description Job Description:This position is for a process engineering intern who will support the EW-IMC Front End Processes. Duties and Responsibilities:This position is for a process engineering intern who will support the EW-IMC factory. The intern will assist process engineers who provide sustaining engineering, process development and new process implementation by through hands-on problem solving, data analyses and application of engineering, and lean manufacturing principles to improve product flow and product yields. This position is to support first shift factory operations.Responsibilities may include: Supports the development of new processes and works with the process engineer to identify and implement changes in product flow through the application of lean manufacturing principles.
Supports the process engineer with customer corrective action requests using 9 Step problem solving methodology.
Works with the process engineer and production floor personnel to define and specify the requirement for assembly tooling, fixtures and equipment to support current manufacturing operations and recommend changes for production ramp-ups.
Will learn how to apply Six Sigma tools to solve production problems and improve existing processes. Will learn and utilize poke yoke principles to prevent production problems.
Required Skills and Education Required Skills and Education:Required Education: Must be considering attending college in engineering. Required Skills: Exhibit sound interpersonal skills
Willingness to learn SPC, Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing and be able to apply these principles to applicable projects
Solid skills in problem solving
Ability to understand, help analyze, and help resolve technical problems
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
