Bell, a leader in Aerospace and US Defense industry located in Fort Worth, TX has multiple openings for Cost Engineers and Sr Cost Engineers to join our Future Vertical Lift (FVL) team supporting Aircraft Life Cycle Affordability and Sustainability. These roles are onsite at headquarters.
In this role, you will provide basic life cycle cost analyses in support of a comprehensive total ownership cost management strategy.
You will conduct “should cost” analyses, identify cost reduction opportunities, and provide actionable guidance to internal stakeholders throughout the development, production, operating, and sustainment program phases.
You will be using state of the art software tools that include manufacturing process simulation, Predictive Analytics tools, Digital Thread tools, and digital manufacturing insights platforms to improve costs and risks of manufacturing aircraft.
Position Responsibilities:
Create and maintain advanced cost estimating models in Unison TruePlanning
Perform bottom-up “should cost” analysis of Catia designs in aPriori
Work closely with Integrated Product Teams to provide design trade-study scoring with producibility and production cost impact analysis
Work closely with Integrated Product Support and Reliability & Maintainability engineering to predict top operating cost drivers and provide actionable cost reduction guidance on maintenance/design decisions
Work closely with Supply Chain Management to evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate favorable pricing
Work closely with Pricing & Estimating to ensure alignment on U.S. Government requests for information, proposals, and engagements
Maintain affordability targets, metrics, and messaging to inform both internal and external stakeholders
Lead cost reduction initiatives

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting, Economics, or related field required
Master’s degree &/or International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA) certification preferred
Position Requirements:
At least 2 years of aerospace and defense industry engineering experience and strong financial knowledge (financial analysis) OR Value Engineering (cost) experience. Can also consider candidates with strong cost analytics (financial analysis) experience in aerospace and defense industry or similar industry.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with technical organizations, in a multidisciplinary environment.
Effective communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation forms
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Work experience in at least one of the following cost-estimating software applications (TruePlanning, aPriori, SEER, etc.) or similar
Prior experience in working as a Cost Analyst, Cost Calculator, or Cost Controller
Experience in participating in project life-cycle planning, risk analysis, risk management, and reporting
Ability to create complex cost models
