Job Description

Perform pre-rise confidence testing on Large Earth Terminals prior to placing terminal in spacecraft operations.

Perform activities in support of mission operations.

Take a proactive role in operational anomaly resolution.

Stay very focused on spacecraft operations, continually monitor operational systems and work with ground terminal group maintenance to find conservative solutions for problems encountered during near real-time operations.

Required Skills:

Desire to work in an Operational and Maintenance environment on an operational system.

Requires ability to learn and understand a wide application of technical theories and concepts utilized in the area.

Requires ability to work in a multi-tasking dynamic environment under general direction.

Must be willing to work 12 hour rotating day and night shifts supporting a 7 x 24 mission.

Must be able to distinguish the difference between colors on a computer monitor (specifically red, blue, white, and green). Requires the ability to utilize graphical and textual color displays of remote systems to evaluate and respond to mission needs.

Requires 0-2 years of Operational and Maintenance (O&M) experience.

Desired Skills:

Desire 0 to 2 yearsí experience with two or more of the following: Electronic systems, Electro-mechanical systems, software applications and/or data processing systems.

Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.

Demonstrated ability to understand existing procedures while looking for ways to improve on them.

Additional Info:

Must be able to work overtime and off hours as needed.

Must be able to work at a PC for extended periods.

Experience performing satellite mission support in a real-time environment.

Experience monitoring and quickly digesting the status of multiple large systems and rapidly reasoning through and prioritizing appropriate responses to real-time situations.

Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify cause and affect relationships.

Ability to learn quickly and multi-task in a high pressure work environment.

Upon acceptance this person will enter into a formal certification process.

Desired Education:

Requires a bachelorís degree preferably in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Math, and/or equivalent related work experience.
