C-CAT’s goal is to fill this position with an individual who is highly motivated, reliable and detail-oriented. This position requires an active or ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance. About the Opportunity A Final Assembly Technician plans and performs final assembly of carbon-carbon components and a variety of other assembly operations to assemble and inspect components, sub-assemblies and systems according to work instructions Job Description: Positions and aligns subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, such as protractors and dividers, following blueprint station lines, index points and laser trackers. Perform assembly, fitting, filing, reaming, and fastener installation operations. Use a variety of light machine tools and hand tools. Trims and sands parts to specifications for fit, and verifies fitting tolerances, using measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers and laser trackers. Locates holes to be drilled in structural assembly for installation of parts and components using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments. Drills, taps, reams, countersinks, holes in subassemblies, and fastens detail parts into structural assembly using hand tools and power tools. Sand excess adhesive from parts. Mix and use various adhesives per internal specification(s). Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Detects defective or incorrect parts and requests replacement if necessary. Maintain documentation required to demonstrate product conformity. Initiate and maintain As-Built records for inspection throughout assembly. Works in various manufacturing environments. Absorbs responsibilities outside of primary functions as needed. Position works 40 hour work week and may require overtime. Minimum Qualifications: At least two years of aerospace assembly experience required Experience with laser tracker preferred but not required Technical background preferred but not required Experience in a manufacturing facility/environment required Must be proficient in interpreting drawings Must be proficient in using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint High School Diploma or equivalent required Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Must pass pre-employment drug test screening and background check This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, requires US Citizenship Competencies for Success: Effective communication skills Ability to work in team environment Strong attention to detail, work ethic with a task completion mindset Team player, hands-on type individual, objective, willing to offer solutions Strong time management skills C-CAT is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
