This is an engineering professional position and the selected candidate will be responsible for performing technical assignments to support the concept, design, development, and testing of aircraft specialty heated products, potable water systems, and the successful introduction of those products into manufacturing, as well as sustaining the support of products.The chosen candidate will be responsible for assisting in various phases of new product development projects, where the application of a broad range of mechanical engineering principles is required.The chosen candidate will work within the potable water system design engineering department within our organization and will work alongside other functional groups of the business, including quality, accounting, business development and manufacturing operations. Product and system applications will include specialty heated products and potable water system and components.Primary Responsibilities: Perform and support new product introduction (NPI) programs from Proposal phase through Design and Development, Production Readiness and Entry Into Service, and Sustaining. Design and develop various components in support of customer and internal requirements. Perform analyses and testing to validate/verify design performance. Support integrated product teams within Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Development, Quality Assurance, Program Management, and Operations. Participate in team coordination meetings. Interact with internal and external customers and suppliers. Resolve production and/or quality issues and respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner Develop solutions to problems with increasing scope and complexity. Contribute to the improvement of design processes and create standard work instructions as needed. Position will require direct contact with customers and suppliers. Travel is required, estimated 10 percent on average.
