Aerospace design has traditionally been a slow moving big company or government operation. We bring the same underlying principles to a consumer electronics development pace and scale. In this role, you’ll help design and optimize a flying vehicle with complex requirements and great looks by applying theory and practical testing.
HOW YOULL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Rapid prototyping and concept development for VTOL and winged vehicles
Full vehicle performance modelling and analysis including size, weight, power, aerodynamics, and thermals
Rotor optimization and design
Design and analysis of exterior surfaces
Creative experimental investigation of design tradeoffs
BS or MS in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related
Working knowledge of propeller and helicopter theory
Previous vehicle design experience
Experience using 3D CAD with a team to manage all parts of the system
Propensity for healthy blend of theory, experiments, and practical testing
Passion for building great things
Experience with numerical analysis/design tools: xRotor, XFoil, CFD, FEM, etc.
Programming/scripting (Matlab/Python) for scripting tests, and building models
