Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) seeks to fill a Manager position with Engineering, Sciences & Technology (ES&T) Central Region with the Cyber Analytics discipline in the Cyber and Networks Engineering Orlando Department at our Nellis AFB, NV
location. This is a dual role encompassing both people leadership and technical performance. Occasional shiftwork for this position may be needed and the incumbent must be flexible and willing to work all shifts as the contract needs change.
The Cyber & Networks Engineering organization supports Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) Mission Integration, Distributed Mission Networks, and Wideband SATCOM programs. The selected candidate will be responsible for a team of highly skilled engineers. This is a dual role position, so the candidate will spend part of their time managing a team and part of their time working cyber and network engineering activities for programs.
The responsibilities associated with managing a team include:
Ã¢â¬ Functional oversight for a team of engineers working multiple initiatives, primarily across the Airborne C4ISR Systems division, including follow-on contracts, new business growth opportunities, internal research and development, and capital projects.
Ã¢â¬ Staffing and workload forecast; resource, travel, and timecard approval; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development; employee training and identification and training of skills required to execute on programs; management and execution of employee performance review processes; and leadership and execution for a multitude of functional management processes.
Ã¢â¬ Recruiting of talent to meet staffing commitments.
Ã¢â¬ Where appropriate, interface with the customer as the face of Northrop Grumman.
The responsibilities associated with working cyber and network engineering activities include:
Ã¢â¬ Security Operations Center (SOC)/Incident Response Lead
Ã¢â¬ Computer system operation and the operation of complex software
Ã¢â¬ Working knowledge of networks and an understanding of network architectures
Ã¢â¬ Data & traffic analysis
Ã¢â¬ Identifying security events (when and how to react to events)
Ã¢â¬ Incident response activities
Ã¢â¬ Develop trouble tickets & Support System Problem Report analysis
Ã¢â¬ Perform system scans, administration, architecture, and engineering duties
Ã¢â¬ Participate in technical interchange meetings
Ã¢â¬ Provide support for development and enhancement of security engineering inputs to program documentation and Security Authorization packages
Ã¢â¬ Support security controls tailored to meet existing threats
Ã¢â¬ Provide input to, and interface in customer meetings, or providing status input to management

The candidate will work closely with the managers of other engineering disciplines as well as program directors/managers. The ideal candidate will also be able to champion change within the organization, to achieve competitive advantage for the business.
Ã¢â¬ Bachelor Degree and 6 years of technical experience in any combination of Cyber Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Cyber/Secure Software/Firmware or Hardware Engineering, or Cybersecurity/Information Assurance disciplines; Years of experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
Ã¢â¬ Previous experience in People and Technical Leadership roles
Ã¢â¬ Proven demonstrated leadership skills
Ã¢â¬ US Citizenship is required and must have a current DoD Top Secret security clearance and be able to achieve Tier 1 access eligibility for SAP/SAR Program and SCI
Ã¢â¬ Meet DoD 8570 certification requirements (e.g. Security certification or CISSP) OR ability to obtain one within 6 months)
Ã¢â¬ Knowledge of networks and basic networking architecture
Ã¢â¬ Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and applications
Ã¢â¬ Strong troubleshooting skills
Ã¢â¬ Proficient in computer system operations and complex software tools
Ã¢â¬ Willingness to occasionally work flexible schedule and routine shift work (ability to work outside of normal working hours and weekends as needed to support the customerÃ¢â¬â¢s needs)
Ã¢â¬ Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ã¢â¬ Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Ã¢â¬ Must be able to travel to Orlando, FL for SOC training
Ã¢â¬ Minimum of 2 yearsÃ¢â¬â¢ experience with LVC, Simulation Training networks and services
Ã¢â¬ Experience with network security controls such as routers, switches,
firewalls, intrusion management solutions, network access control, and
Ã¢â¬ Knowledge and working experience with the Airborne C4ISR Systems missions
Ã¢â¬ Bachelors or Masters degree
Ã¢â¬ DoD 8570 IAM/IAT certification requirements
Ã¢â¬ Active DoD Top Secret/SCI Clearance
Ã¢â¬ Experience with full lifecycle of Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment & Authorization
Ã¢â¬ Understanding of distributed simulation protocols (e.g., DIS, HLA)
Ã¢â¬ Vulnerability assessment experience
Ã¢â¬ Recent military experience or familiarity with DOD (Customer is USAF), COMM or other computer/avionics/electronics career fields
