Lockheed Martin Space in Valley Forge, PA or Littleton, CO has an excellent opportunity for a Software Quality Manager in our Military Space SW Quality group. As a new team member, you will need to be someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, leads by example, and has the desire and ability to influence and develop partnerships with the team and remote groups and throughout the LM organization.
Your role will consist of managing a team of primarily software quality engineers (SQE) who perform program quality, software quality, hardware quality and supplier quality tasks for a portfolio of programs in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Colorado and California. You will be responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
Additional responsibilities will be to:
o Engage with Engineering to understand the current and future development strategies to coach and facilitate the professional development of the employees.
o Monitor activity in the portfolio of programs to ensure quality assurance (QA) involvement where necessary.
o Perform QA tasks in support of the SQEs.
o Manage collaboration sites to foster sharing of information.
o Build effective relationships with the Program Directors and Program Managers of the portfolio of programs to ensure effectiveness of QA services.
o Facilitate, communicate, and provide recommendations for senior levels of management.
o Oversee measurement and metrics collection and reporting to the Quality organization
o Participate in the Software Quality Working Group.

To be successful in this role you will need the following experience:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.).
• Previous Software Development or Software Quality Experience
• Experience with a product development life cycle
• Knowledge of lean six sigma
• Knowledge of defect collection, reporting and analysis tools
• Experience with system, software or document inspections
• Experience with working with internal or external customers
• Understanding of external quality standards such as ISO9001/AS9100
• Active Top Secret Clearance required, with ability to obtain SCI and US Citizenship required
• Some travel to other locations may be needed
• Agile development experience
• Previous Ground System Development Experience
• Certified Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt or higher
• Experience with performing process audits
• Apollo Root Cause Analysis training or equivalent.
• Experience in design, development or test with software or hardware products
• Experience with supply chain management or supplier quality
• Experience with hardware inspections
